Traditions are like clothes.
Sometimes people receive clothes from friends and family. Some people make their own clothes. Some people find clothes that fit them well enough on store shelves and they wear those.
People tend to have a certain way they dress, and a certain way they shop. A persons whole sense of fashion doesn’t change often except in broad strokes over long lives, even though it’s fundamentally a choice they could make differently each day.
Traditions are like that.
