On Getting To The Airport Too Late

Twice lately I’ve gotten to the airport within a few minutes of missing my flight.

Somehow I made it.

The trick, I’ve learned, is to be kind and patient. (Or get there earlier)

One of the simpler problems to solve in life, I think.

So I’m going to get back to my usual practice of getting to the airport 2 hours early. Is it a waste of time? From one perspective.

But it’s a sanity saver, that’s for sure.

Also in this category of easy things to fix that I’d like to replace in my routine altogether:

Being 5 minutes late to things. Super dumb. I’d like to be 15 early from now on. Simple change, huge returns.

Driving fast. Or Driving at all.

Waiting longer to reply to an email than a text message.

Being the one to step up and be decisive in a group. Having preferences about group activities, being able to lead and host nights out and events.

As of this moment I’m making it official: these are all things I’m working to change.
